As everyone knows, the situation re: COVID-19 has been changing daily, sometimes hourly. And it is a time of great anxiety for all of us, no matter if we are parents, counselors, clinicians, or leaders. But at JRI, we have a tremendous team of managers, clinicians, teachers and counselors who are working flat out to ensure continuity of care.

Each program we run has a different set of circumstances. For this crisis, we have developed Program Director groups for both congregate care (24-7) programs and day services. You can find the director for any program (with contact info) on our website.
For day programs, we are making use of telehealth technology to work with clients where that makes sense. Other programs are continuing normal operations, again following universal precautions. All large meetings have become virtual.
Our biggest area of focus is our 24-hour “congregate care” settings. We have activated the entire JRI administrative team to be in full support mode. We are coordinating supplies, and preparing for the possibility that a resident may test positive despite our best efforts.
We also have a growing number of volunteers from community programs who are pitching in to help residential programs. Staffing at those programs is always a challenge, but with the closing of public schools, day care, etc, it has become even harder.

Finally, we are in touch with the relevant state agencies to keep them apprised of our needs, and to offer assistance where we can. We are grateful to be operating in MA, RI, and CT, where public health has always been a focus.
